Darbe yra pristatomi veiklos ypatumai su kuriais susiduria socialinis darbuotojas vykstant įvaikinimo procesui. Įvaikinimo procesas yra ganėtinai sudėtingas dalykas apimantis ir teisinius apsektus. Taigi socialinio darbuotojo veikla įvaikinimo procese yra svarbi. Darbe yra išskirti veiklos ypatumai, su kuriais susiduria socialinis darbuotojas vykstant įvaikinimo procesui. Socialinis darbuotojas ne tik bendrauja įvaikinimo procese, bet ir ruošia dokumentus, skatina įvaikinimą, susiduria su įvairiausiais sunkumais.

The relevance of the topic: The present work deals with the work peculiarities of a social worker in the process of adoption. The process of adoption is a considerably difficult process which involves juridical aspects as well. Thus, social worker’s activity in the process of adoption is crucial. In the present paper peculiarities of work of a social worker during the process of adoption are distinguished. A social worker not only communicates in the process of adoption but also prepares the documents, encourages the adoption and faces various difficulties.
The aim of the research: to disclose the work peculiarities of a social worker in the process of adoption.
The object of the research: peculiarities of work of a social worker in the process of adoption.
The research question: what are the peculiarities of work of a social worker in the process of adoption?
The methods of the research: analysis of scientific literature, qualitative, structural interview method during which four social workers working with the process of adoption were interview. Three of them work in the same institution – family centre of Alytus town and one of them works in a communal orphanage of “SOS vaikų kaimas”, Public Enterprise in Vilnius.
The conclusions of the research: after carrying out the empirical study about the peculiarities of work of a social worker in the process of adoption, the peculiarities of work came to light. It was ascertained that for social workers in the process of adoption, child’s well-being and the search of a family are the most important and crucial. Also, it was disclosed what kinds of exclusive activities they perform during the process of adoption. The study revealed what kinds of exclusive difficulties a social worker encounters with in the process of adoption: a small number of people willing to adopt and other worker’s incompetent behaviour. Moreover, it was disclosed how social workers solve exceptional difficulties. It was revealed that in communication with a child an exceptional methods were used and it was disclosed how unique requirements which are raised by foster-parents are executed.
