Savanoriška veikla visuomenei tampa vis labiau suprantama. Daugėja įstaigų, kuriose darbuojasi ne tik apmokami darbuotojai, bet ir savanoriai. Atlikta nemažai tyrimų, analizuojančių savanoriškos veiklos sritį, besigilinančių į savanoriškos veiklos prasmę ir esmę. Nemaža dalis mokslo sričių yra susijusi su savanoriška veikla. Tarp jų ir socialinis darbas.

Relevance of the topic: social work study programs prepare specialists - aiming at the well-being of society, reducing social exclusion, contributing to the development of citizenship, problems of various social groups with which they face, overcoming and solving difficulties. A significant part of future social workers volunteer in various institutions before or after social work studies. Volunteering provides opportunities for them to contribute to the well-being of society and to address social problems, and it is therefore important to disclose how volunteering is promoted in the training of social workers. Aim of the work: to find out the expressions of promotion of voluntary activity in the training of social workers. Object of the thesis: promotion of voluntary activity in training of social workers. Method of research: analysis of literature sources, questionnaire survey Results and conclusions of research: the analysis of the research showed that, according to the majority of respondents, students have opportunities to participate in voluntary activities during their studies. Also, the promotion of volunteering would be enhanced by the inclusion of volunteering as a study subject in a social work study program, the possibility of studying volunteering hours with study credits, or the possibility of volunteering in place of compulsory professional practice. It is also important for students and teachers to work with institutions that need volunteers support.
