According to Glowacki (2015), effective pain management, improvement in patient outcomes and satisfaction with the treatment facility are directly related to the work done by nurses. Motov et al (2018) states that pain is one of the biggest health problems in the world, according to Pierik et al. (2017), pain is the main complaint of patients visiting emergency departments. The WHO, together with many national professional organizations and agencies, has recognized that pain management is an essential aspect of patient care.
