Description:
According to SAM, multiple pregnancies are attributed to high-risk pregnancies for their indications, and there is no doubt that families face many questions about their future. It is associated with the essential lifestyle, emotional and social consequences for the whole family (Heinonen K. et al. 2016). According to the data of the Lithuanian Department of Statistics, the number of cases of multiple pregnancy in Lithuania is increasing. In 2013, 360 cases of multiple pregnancy were registered, in 2014 - 338, 2015 - 416, 2016 - 379, and in 2017 - 394 births. (Lithuanian Department of Statistics, 2017) Thus, in four years, the number of deliveries changed, although in 2014 the number of multiple births decreased and in subsequent years they increased every year. There is not enough research done to analyze the main changes in the condition and lifestyle of the woman during pregnancy and postnatal period with multiple pregnancies. Less research has been conducted to analyze the psychological state of the whole family during multiple pregnancy and postnatal period (Wenze S., et al. 2015, Van den Akker O. et al. 2016; Walker E.N., 2012). There is also no similar study in Lithuania of similar topic.
