In Lithuania, bankruptcy of natural persons is a rather new issue compared to other European countries, and the analysis of this topic is essentially relevant due to the relatively small volume of publications. Also, for a part of the Lithuanian emigrants to carry out a natural person bankruptcy procedure in neighbouring Latvia. The main problem of the (professional BA thesis) –Insolvent persons do not rarely select other countries where legal regulation is more favourable. To initiate a bankruptcy procedure persons transfer their main place of interests to other countries. Therefore, this situation understood that the legal regulation applicable in the state encourages potentially insolvent persons to emigrate, which is economically and socially disadvantageous to the state. The aim of the (professional BA thesis) – to analyse and compare legal aspects of the bankruptcy of natural persons in Lithuania and other selected countries (Ireland, Great Britain and Latvia). Objectives of the (professional BA thesis) - analyse the concepts of physical persons’ bankruptcy and insolvency; analyse the legal aspect of bankruptcy proceedings in Lithuania and other countries; review of requirements for natural persons to apply for bankruptcy procedure. Methods of the (professional BA thesis) – descriptive, systematic, logical and comparative research methods. The structure – thesis consists of three parts. First part analyses the concept and prevention of natural persons’ bankruptcy. Second part contains analyse of bankruptcy legal proceedings in Lithuania. Third part contains analyse of bankruptcy process in other foreign countries. Conclusions – performed analysis of the bankruptcy of natural persons and the prevention of bankruptcy of natural persons. The legal regulation and procedure of bankruptcy of a natural person in Lithuania have been analysed, the analysis of the bankruptcy and process of natural persons of other states has been analysed and compared with the legal regulation applicable to the natural person's bankruptcy process in force in Lithuania.
