dc.description A summary of the final thesis "Professional Role of a Social Worker in Mental Health Centers" by a student Gabija Liuizienė (supervisor: lecturer Dainė Krasuckienė) at Kauno kolegija/University of Applied Sciences Faculty of Medical Sciences, Social Work study programme. The thesis analises the roles of proffesional social workers, employed at mental health centers. A social worker is usually very cose to persons, who need help. He or she has several roles - a mediator, a consultant, an identifier, an enabler, a teacher, an advocate etc. Areas in which social workers, employed at mental health centers, work at: • Social and psychosocial rehabilitation services. • General social services. • Information and counseling. • Therapy and employment. • Cultural and leisure activities. • Nourishing and household services. The activities of social workers are multidirectional and the spectrum of their services is broad and covering many duties, because a social worker is related not only to the client, but also to the surrounding environment. These are the services that a person with mental health problems can receive. However, it is necessary to find out the professional roles of a social worker when working in mental health centers. The aim of the thesis: to determine professional roles of a a social worker when working in mental health centers. The tasks of the thesis: ⦁ To explain the concept of mental health. ⦁ To review the principles of mental health care institutions. ⦁ To identify professional roles of a a social worker in mental health centers. The object of the thesis: professional role of a social worker, working in mental health centers. The research question: what professional roles does the social worker working in mental health centers have? Research method: descriptive quantitative study, using non-probable, targeted sampling. 30 respondents, who are social workers working in mental health centers, participated in the survey en
dc.description.abstract Darbe nagrinėjami profesiniai socialinio darbuotojo vaidmenys dirbant psichikos sveikatos centruose. Socialinis darbuotojas yra arčiausiai asmenų, kuriems reikalinga pagalba. Jis turi ne vieną vaidmenį – tarpininko, konsultanto, identifikuotojo, įgalintojo, mokytojo, advokato ir t.t.Psichikos sveikatos centrų socialinių darbuotojų veiklos sritys:socialinių ir psichosocialinių reabilitacijų paslaugos, bendrosios socialinės paslaugos, informavimas ir konsultavimas, terapija ir užimtumas, kultūros ir laisvalaikio organizavimas, maitinimas ir buitinės paslaugos. Socialinių darbuotojų veikla yra daugiakryptė ir paslaugų spektras platus, apimantis daug pareigų, kadangi yra susijęs ne tik su pačiu klientu, bet ir su jį supančia aplinka. Tai paslaugos, kurias gali gauti asmuo turintis psichikos sveikatos problemų. Tačiau reikia išsiaiškinti profesinius socialinio darbuotojo vaidmenis dirbant psichikos sveikatos centruose. en_US
