dc.description The object of the study - Patients with ischemic stroke The aim of the study – Determine the effect of mirror therapy on the hand motor function on individuals after ischemic stroke. The tasks of the study – • To assess the impact of impaired hand function in individuals after ischemic stroke, before and after mirror therapy. • To evaluate the impact of impaired hand function in individuals after ischemic stroke, before and after physiotherapy. • Compare the effects of mirror therapy and physiotherapy on the hand motor function for individuals after ischemic stroke. Methods and organization of study – The study was carried out at the Public ’Kauno panemunės slaugos ir palaikomojo gydymo ligoninėje’. Individuals after ischemic stroke. Selected subjects over 60 years of age. 10 subjects: 5 applicable mirror therapy, the other five applicable only physiotherapy. The beginning of the study evaluates: functional movement using the Barthel index scale, amplitude of motion using goniometer and muscle strength using the Lovett scale. For the motor hand function, I will use the Box and Cube test (for measuring the speed and accuracy of the hand using the stopwatch. The subjects were randomly divided into two groups: the mean age of the first group reached 68+5. Physiotherapy is applied (active and passive exercises), and the average age of the second group reaches 79+3 Mirror therapy is used (active movements are performed with a healthy hand. Damaged hand is hidden to allow only the image of a healthy hand to be seen in the mirror) Physical therapy and mirror therapy will take place for two months, two times a week, thirty minutes. Indicators are evaluated after two months. Rezults – After analyzing the results, we found that the physiotherapy group's service according to the Barthel index increased more than in the mirror therapy group, but the difference was near high. Improvement in movement amplitude in joints in both groups was observed in both groups, a significant difference between the groups was observed, that in the group of physiotherapy more improved on shoulder amplitude while the mirror therapy group improved on the wrist amplitude. There was a slight improvement in both groups, but no significant effect was observed after the muscle strength of the mirror therapy group and the physiotherapy group At the end of both groups, cubes were added more than at the beginning Conclusions – 1. Individuals using mirror therapy have improved hand function. The greatest improvement was found in the cube and box test - in the accuracy and speed of the arm, and in the muscle strength, in the wrist and forearm movements, in the barthel index and in the amplitude of the motion amplitude progresion was, but small. 2. In the group of patients with ischemic stroke, using the methods of physiotherapy in the group, the greatest improvement was found in the index of barthel, muscle strength - in the movements of the upper arm, speed and accuracy was a small improvement. 3. Persons suffering from ischemic stroke, mirror therapy for motor function more efficiently recovering in speed and accuracy. And physical therapy increases the efficiency service in everyday activities. en
