dc.description Vitkauskaite L. The Occupational Therapy in Sensory Integration Disorder and Behavioural Changes for Pre-School Age Children. Bachelor’s degree thesis / supervisor lect. Evelina Lamsodiene. University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of medicine, Department of Rehabilitation. Kaunas, 2018, - 42 p. The aim: to identify pre-school age children sensory integration disoders and their behavior changes by applying occupational therapy. The goals: 1) to evaluate pre-school age children sensory integration disorders by observing from parents and teachers’ positions, before and after occupational therapy. 2) To evaluate pre-school age children behavior changes by observing from parents and teachers’ positions, before and after occupational therapy. 3) To determine pre-school age children sensory integration and behavior changes by applying occupational therapy. The method: quantitative research was done by applying sensory profile with power and difficulty questionnaires to parents and teachers. The research was conducted in X institution from 2018 February to March. The occupational therapy sessions were applied to groups with similar sensory stimulus changes. Taking a look into sensory changes there were selected measures and activities to decrease for these changes. Participants were seventeen pre-school age children whose age was between 6 and 7. Results: Sensory profile questionnaire displayed that all participants had sensory integration changes. The biggest changes were in sound, visual tactile and vestibular senses. Also, by evaluating sensory profile was noticed that all children have behavior changes because of sensory integration, though according power and difficulties questionnaire behavioral problems had many children. It was noticed how changed children adaptation to sensory stimulates and how changed their behavior when they adapted to it. Conclusions: 1) Part of pre-school age children has sensory integration disoders, especially in sound, visual, tactile and vestibular senses. After occupational therapy was noticed progressive adaptation to sensory stimulates. 2) All participants had more striking or not striking behavior problems, which had influence to children routine, learning or free time activities. After occupational therapy was noticed positive changes. 3) After occupational therapy it was determined pre-school age children progressive adaptation to in environment existing sensory stimulates, which lead to children decreasing behavior problems. en
