dc.description	Relevance of the topic: children with Down syndrome are characterized by sensory integration disorders (Will et al. 2019). Children with Down Syndrome are also characterized by limited practical and social abilities, which determine the child's level of independence (van Gameren-Oosterom et al., 2014). In order to assess the sensory integration and / or level of independence of children with Down syndrome, it is necessary to take into account the views of parents / guardians and educators. The aim of this cooperation is to collect as accurate data as possible about the child (Kavaliauskienė, 2009). Parents' remarks when assessing a child may lead to higher or, conversely, lower results of the child's assessment. Research problem: what is the assessment of touch perception disorders and independence of children with Down syndrome from the point of occupational therapist and parents? The object of the research: evaluation of touch perception disorders and independence of children with Down syndrome from the point of occupational therapist and parents. The aim of the study: to evaluate the perceptual impairment disorders and independence of children with Down syndrome from the point of an occupational therapist and parents. Research tasks: 1. To evaluate the perceptual disorders and independence of children with Down syndrome from the point of occupational therapist. 2. To assess the perceptual impairment disorders and independence of children with Down syndrome from the parents' point of view. 3. To compare the results of touch perception disorders and independence of children with Down syndrome from the point of occupational therapist and parents. Methodology of investigation: a quantitative research method was chosen for the study. Ten 4 - 12 year olds children with Down syndrome and their parents / guardians participated in the research. The Touch Disorder Assessment Questionnaire was used to assess touch disorders in children with Down syndrome, and the WeeFIM questionnaire was used to assess children's independence. Results: analyzing the touch perception disorders and independence of children with Down syndrome from the point of occupational therapist and parents, it can be stated that all children with this disorder have touch perception disorders: from the point of an occupational therapist - marked, from the parents' point of view - moderate touch perception. From the point of an occupational therapist, children with Down syndrome are almost self-sufficient, and from the point of parents, they are either almost self-sufficient or need little to average help. This means that from a parental perspective, children with Down syndrome are less independent than from an occupational therapist’s point of view.	en_US
dc.description.abstract	Temos aktualumas: vaikams, turintiems Dauno sindromą, būdingi sensorinės integracijos sutrikimai (Will ir kt. 2019). Taip pat tokiems vaikams būdingas praktinių ir socialinių gebėjimų ribotumas, lemiantis vaiko savarankiškumo lygį (van Gameren-Oosterom ir kt., 2014). Norint įvertinti vaikų, turinčių Dauno sindromą, sensorinę integraciją ar / ir savarankiškumo lygį, būtina atsižvelgti į tėvų / globėjų bei pedagogų nuomonę. Šio bendradarbiavimo tikslas – surinkti kuo tikslesnius duomenis apie vaiką (Kavaliauskienė, 2009). Tėvų pastabos vertinant vaiką, gali lemti aukštesnius arba atvirkščiai – žemesnius vaiko vertinimo rezultatus. Tyrimo problema: koks yra vaikų, turinčių Dauno sindromą, lietimo suvokimo sutrikimų ir savarankiškumo įvertinimas ergoterapeuto ir tėvų požiūriu? Tyrimo objektas: vaikų, turinčių Dauno sindromą, lietimo suvokimo sutrikimų ir savarankiškumo įvertinimas ergoterapeuto ir tėvų požiūriu. Tyrimo tikslas: įvertinti vaikų, turinčių Dauno sindromą, lietimo suvokimo sutrikimus ir savarankiškumą ergoterapeuto ir tėvų požiūriu. Tyrimo uždaviniai: 1. Įvertinti vaikų, turinčių Dauno sindromą, lietimo suvokimo sutrikimus ir savarankiškumą ergoterapeuto požiūriu. 2. Įvertinti vaikų, turinčių Dauno sindromą, lietimo suvokimo sutrikimus ir savarankiškumą tėvų požiūriu. 3. Palyginti vaikų, turinčių Dauno sindromą, lietimo suvokimo sutrikimų ir savarankiškumo rezultatus ergoterapeuto ir tėvų požiūriu. Tyrimo metodika: tyrimui atlikti buvo pasirinktas kiekybinis tyrimo metodas. Tyrime dalyvavo dešimt 4 - 12 m. amžiaus vaikų, turinčių Dauno sindromą, bei jų tėvai / globėjai. Vaikų, turinčių Dauno sindromą, lietimo sutrikimams įvertinti buvo naudojamas Lietimo sutrikimų vertinimo klausimynas, vaikų savarankiškumui įvertinti – WeeFIM klausimynas. Rezultatai: išanalizavus vaikų, turinčių Dauno sindromą, lietimo suvokimo sutrikimus ir savarankiškumą ergoterapeuto ir tėvų požiūriu, galima teigti, jog visi šį sutrikimą turintys vaikai, turi lietimo suvokimo sutrikimų: ergoterapeuto požiūriu – žymų, tėvų požiūriu – vidutinį lietimo suvokimo sutrikimą. Ergoterapeuto požiūriu, vaikai, turintys Dauno sindromą, yra beveik savarankiški, tėvų požiūriu - arba beveik savarankiški, arba jiems reikalinga maža – vidutinė pagalba. Tai reiškia, jog tėvų požiūriu, vaikai, turintys Dauno sindromą, yra mažiau savarankiški nei ergoterapeuto požiūriu.	en_US
