dc.description	Varanavičiutė Justė “Patterns of Theme and Rheme Employed to Achieve Coherence in the Newspaper Articles” Professional Bachelor Thesis. Scientific advisor prof. Dr. R. Jasnauskaitė, Kaunas University of Applied Sciences, the Language Centre of the Faculty of Arts and Education. Kaunas, 2021. The paper includes 39 pages, 22 references. Purpose of the research. The subject matter of the PBT is the patterns of theme and rheme which are analyzed and applied to the writing of coherent and cohesive newspaper articles. The problem question of the paper is to find out how to write coherent newspaper articles, applying patterns of theme and rheme. The objectives are: to theoretically analyze the meaning of theme and rheme, its patterns and their characteristics that are important to create coherent texts; to apply the gathered theoretical knowledge practically by analyzing phenomena, related to patterns of theme and rheme. The paper consists of two main parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part gives a review of the main idea of theme and rheme, what are the patterns of theme and rheme and what influence they have for the creation of coherent sentences or texts of newspaper articles. The analytical part provides the analysis of articles taken from the newspaper “The Guardian”, according to the patterns of theme and rheme provided in the theoretical part. Research methodology. Having analyzed the arguments found in the theoretical works, the main four patterns of theme and rheme were found, which are the most important in creating coherent texts. The data for the practical linguistic analysis was collected from the newspaper “The Guardian”. The methods used include: 1) the analysis of the theoretical references; 2) the comparative linguistic analysis. Findings and conclusions. The results of the linguistic study reveal that the patterns of theme and rheme are known and used in the newspaper articles and other texts. The application of theme and rheme patterns allows to create and maintain coherence throughout all the narrative. Relevance and practical implications. The research of the PBT is relevant for present and future writers and editors for whom it is not only important to publish their works, but also for their works to be understood by the readers. This PBT introduces the term of theme and rheme, its patterns and presents how these patterns can be applied in writing texts, as a result, it can help a lot of writers to create coherent and cohesive narratives.	en_US
dc.description.abstract	Varanavičiutė Justė, profesinio bakalauro baigiamasis darbas „Temos ir remos modelių taikymas kuriant rišlius laikraščių straipsnius“. Baigiamojo darbo vadovė docentė Dr. R. Jasnauskaitė, Kauno kolegijos Menų ir ugdymo fakulteto Kalbų centras, Kaunas, 2021. Baigiamojo darbo apimtis – 39 psl., darbe panaudoti 22 šaltiniai. Tyrimo paskirtis. Baigiamojo darbo objektas yra temos ir remos modeliai, kurie išanalizuojami ir pritaikomi rašant rišlius ir aiškius laikraščių straipsnius. Pagrindinė šio darbo problema yra išsiaiškinti kaip sukurti rišlius laikraščių straipsnius, pritaikant temos ir remos modelius. Baigiamojo darbo uždaviniai: teoriškai išanalizuoti temos ir remos reikšmę, jos modelius bei jų savybes, reikalingas kuriant rišlius tekstus; sukauptas teorines žinias pritaikyti praktiškai, analizuojant reiškinius, susijusius su temos ir remos modeliais. Darbą sudaro dvi pagrindinės dalys: teorinė ir praktinė. Teorinėje dalyje apžvelgiama kas yra tema ir rema, kokie yra temos-remos modeliai ir kokią įtaką jie daro kuriant rišlius sakinius ir tekstus laikraščių straipsniams. Praktinėje dalyje analizuojami straipsniai, išrinkti iš laikraščio „The Guardian“, pagal teorinėje dalyje aptartus temos ir remos modelius. Mokslinio tyrimo metodologija. Išanalizavus teorinius šaltinius, atrasti keturi pagrindiniai temos ir remos modeliai, kuriais remiantis rašomi rišlūs tekstai. Duomenys praktinei lingvistinei analizei rinkti iš angliškos laikraščio „The Guardian“. Naudojami metodai: teorinių šaltinių analizė ir lyginamoji lingvistinė analizė. Rezultatai ir išvados. Lingvistinio tyrimo rezultatai atskleidžia, kad temos ir remos modeliai yra žinomi ir naudojami laikraščių straipsniuose ir kituose tekstuose. Temos ir remos modelių pritaikymas kuriant tekstus padeda sukurti ir išlaikyti rišlumą viso pasakojimo metu. Aktualumas ir praktinis pirtaikomumas. Šis profesinio bakalauro darbas aktualus esamiems bei būsimiems rašytojams, redaktoriams, kuriems svarbu ne tik sukurti ir išleisti savo kūrybos darbus, bet taip pat svarbu, kad jų darbai būtų suprasti skaitytojų. Ši baigiamojo darbo analizė supažindina su temos ir remos sąvoka, jų pagrindiniais modeliais bei pristato kaip šie modeliai gali būti pritaikomi tekstų rašyme, kas gali padėti daugeliui rašytojų kuriant rišlius ir aiškius pasakojimus.	en_US
