dc.description Juškevičiūtė J., professional bachelor „The Evaluation of social activity in a schizophrenics patient group“, supervisor assistant Giedrė Ganusauskienė, Kaunas University of Applied Sciences, Medical faculty, -Kaunas, 2018. Schizophrenia is the most mysterious, scientific disputable and uncertain disease. Sometimes it is called the "Queen of the Psychiatry" and is considered to be the most important issue for the global social psychiatry. Schizophrenia suffering persons experiences social exclusion, and therefore often feel lonely, immersed in the world of their own fantasies, is closed and believe that no one understands them. The seperation from society is inherent for them. Because socialization is self - disclosure, and people with schizophrenia experience social exclusion or self - deprivation, consequantly they do not realize themselves. Therefore it is important to figure out how the disease affects individual socialization and how occupational therapy can help schizophrenic patients returning to society. The aim of the study was to evaluate the social activity of persons diseased by schizophrenia. Tasks of the investigation: to determine the main problems of the social activity of people diseased by schizophrenia; to compare social activity of persons diseased by schizophrenia depending on sex; compare the social activity of people diseased by schizophrenia depending on the duration of the disease. Respondents: The study involved 20 people diseased by schizophrenia and being treated in the Aleksotas sector of the Kaunas Republican Hospital. The study involved 10 men and 10 women. The average age of the subjects is 41.55 years. Results of Social Support Questionnaire assesses six areas - affiliation, social integration, sense of value, trust in relatives, leadership and fostering opportunities. The total affiliation score of the subjects was 9.5 points out of 16 possible points; social integration was rated 10.55 points out of 16 possible points; sense of value - 10.7 points out of 16 possible points; trust in relatives - 9,95 points out of 16 possible points; Leadership - 10 points out of 16 possible points; cultuvitation of possibilities - 9.85 points out of 16 possible points. The "Interpersonal Support Evaluation List (ISEL)" is divided into three areas - dependency support, assessment assistance and material support. In the assessment for support, the average score for patients was 8.95 out of 12 possible. In the assessment for dependency support, the overall average of patients was 7.8 points out of 12 possible. The assessment for material support was 8.6 points out of 12 possible points. Conclusions. The social activity of people diseased by schizophrenia are limited by: young age, short duration of illness, poor self-esteem, poor perceived support from relatives or lack of evaluation. The results of the inquiry show that women are more socially active than men, more appreciate support from relatives, more trust in relatives, and tend to attach more. Men are more self-reliant and receive more tangible support from their loved ones. The average length of a woman's illness is 9.4 years longer than that of men. Women's performance is higher in many areas than men. The longer the duration of the disease, the better the patient's adaptation in the social field. en
