The aim of the work: to evaluate the change of cognitive functions and autonomy of people living in care homes using different leisure activities. Tasks of the work: 1. To evaluate the cognitive functions of persons living in care homes before and after various leisure activities; 2. To assess the independence of persons living in care homes before and after various leisure activities; 3. To assess the will of people living in care homes before and after various leisure activities. Methodology: The research was carried out in February - March in the X office. The study involved 24 people living in care homes. Of these, 20 women (83.3%) and 4 men (16.7%). The average age of the subjects was 81.2 ± 10.5 years. Research instruments: 1. Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE); 2. Activities of daily living (ADL); 3. Will questionnaire 4. Questionnaire for collecting demographic data. During the research, the independence of the subjects and their cognitive functions were studied through different leisure activities: cooking, handcrafts, table and logic games. Study participants were evaluated before and after the use of different leisure activities. Every leisure activity was held twice a week. The duration of the session is about 1 hour. A total of 8 sessions lasted 4 weeks. Results: The changes in cognitive functions, autonomy and will, using different leisure activities were observed in persons living in care homes. Based on the findings of the Mini-Mental State Examination, it is evident that the average score of the subjects in the Mini-Mental State Examination before the study was 19.3 points, after the study - 22.5 points. The average score of the subjects in the ADL test before the study was 25.1 points, after the study - 27.6 points. According to the results of the Will Questionnaire, pre-trial research was dominated by questionable and influencing individuals, and after the study, the majority of subjects were assessed to be affected and volunteered. Conclusions: 1. Persons living in nursing homes before the use of different leisure activities have been diagnosed with a moderate impairment of cognitive function, and after various leisure activities - a mild cognitive impairment. 2. Individuals living in nursing homes were independent before the use of different leisure activities, but after their various leisure activities, their autonomy improved slightly. 3. The vast majority of people living in care homes performed activities only with the maximum or minimum assistance or encouragement and, after the use of different leisure activities - without encouragement or minimal assistance. en
