dc.description	Relevance of the study: Oral cancer is a fairly common malignancy. In Lithuania, about 300 cases are detected every year, which is 3% of all oncological diseases (National Cancer Institute, 2019). Researchers predict that oral cancer will only increase in the future (Shield et al., 2017). After the oral tumor is removed, defects remain in the oral cavity that can be filled with obturator dentures. Research problem: What are the possibilities of restoring the functional and aesthetic condition of the oral cavity with removable dentures after maxillectomy? The aim of the thesis: to reveal the functional and aesthetic possibilities of restoring the condition of the oral cavity with removable dentures after maxillectomy. Tasks: 1. To reveal the importance of prosthetic obturators in patients after maxillectomy. 2. Describe the possible constructions and fabrication methods of obturator prostheses. 3. To compare the manufactured functional and aesthetic aspects of acrylic partial removable obturator and metal removable arch support obturator prostheses. Object of research: Possibilities of restoration of functional and aesthetic condition of oral cavity with removable dentures after maxillectomy. Research methods: 1. Analysis of scientific and professional literature, on the basis of which possible ways of restoring the functions and aesthetics of the oral cavity after maxillectomy with removable dentures were singled out. 2. Fabrication of removable acrylic and removable metal framework obturators. Results of the research: Submitted possibilities of restoration of the functional and aesthetic condition of the oral cavity after maxillectomy with removable obturator prostheses, production methods of obturator prostheses, possible fixation methods, possible constructions, their classification. Removable acrylic obturator and removable metal framework obturator are produced, which are compared in terms of aesthetics and functionality, and the peculiarities of their production are compared. dc.description.abstract	Tyrimo aktualumas: Burnos vėžys gana dažna piktybinė liga. Lietuvoje kasmet nustatoma apie 300 atvejų, tai yra 3 proc. visų onkologinių susirgimų (Nacionalinis vėžio institutas, 2019). Mokslininkai spėja, kad burnos vėžio susirgimų ateityje tik daugės (Shield ir kt., 2017). Pašalinus burnos naviką, burnos ertmėje lieka defektai, kurie gali būti užpildomi obturatoriniais dantų protezais. Tyrimo problema: Kokios yra funkcinės ir estetinės burnos ertmės būklės atkūrimo galimybės išimamaisiais dantų protezais po maksilektomijos? Tyrimo tikslas: atskleisti funkcines ir estetines burnos ertmės būklės atkūrimo galimybes išimamaisiais dantų protezais po maksilektomijos. Tyrimo uždaviniai: 1. Atskleisti protezavimo obturatoriniais protezais svarbą pacientams po maksilektomijos. 2. Aprašyti obturatorinių protezų galimas konstrukcijas, fiksacijos ir gamybos būdus. 3. Palyginti pagamintus išimamąjį akrilinį ir išimamąjį metalinį lanko atraminį obturatorius funkcionalumo ir estetikos aspektais. Tyrimo objektas: Funkcinės ir estetinės burnos ertmės būklės atkūrimo galimybės išimamaisiais dantų protezais po maksilektomijos. Tyrimo metodai: 1. Mokslinės ir profesinės literatūros analizė, kuria remiantis buvo išskirti galimi burnos ertmės funkcijų ir estetikos atkūrimo po maksilektomijos būdai išimamaisiais dantų protezais. 2. Išimamojo akrilinio ir išimamojo metalinio lanko atraminio obturatorių gamyba. Tyrimo rezultatai: Pateiktos funkcinės ir estetinės burnos ertmės būklės atkūrimo po maksilektomijos galimybės išimamaisiais obturatoriniais protezais, obturatorinių protezų gamybos būdai, galimi fiksavimo būdai, galimos konstrukcijos, jų klasifikavimas. Pagaminami išimamasis akrilinis obturatorius ir išimamasis metalinis lanko atraminis obturatorius, kurie palyginami estetikos ir funkcionalumo aspektais, palyginami jų gamybos ypatumai	en_US
