dc.description	Relevance of the problem: Every patient has the right to quality treatment and respect of doctors, but when a patient is ill with non-curable contagious disease, a specialist may often have concerns about the treatment of such a patient. Therefore, it can be assumed that there are factors that determine the choice of a dental assistant. Problem of the study: What are the main factors influencing the choice of a dental assistant in the treatment of HIV-infected patients? Subject of the study: Choice of dental assistants and knowledge in the treatment of HIV-infected persons. The aim of the study: To find out the attitude of dental assistants’ towards the treatment of HIV-infected individuals and to assess the knowledge of this disease about the age, gender and work experience of the respondents. Objectives of the study: 1. To reveal the attitude of dental assistants to the treatment of an HIV-infected patient, and how many of them would feel fear and avoid participating in the procedure for the treatment of an HIV-infected person, depending on the sex, age and work experience of the dental assistant. 2. To assess the knowledge of dental assistants about HIV symptomatology in the mouth, the prevention measures used when working with HIV-infected patients and the emergency protocol in case of a high risk of contracting HIV, dependence on the sex, age and work experience of the dental assistant. Survey methodology and subjects: An anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted. Surveyed by 221 dental assistants of Lithuanian doctors, the analysis of the data was carried out using descriptive statistics calculations. Results: 1) Women and recent graduates and dental assistants would feel the greatest fear when treating HIV-infected patients. 2) In the treatment of hiv-infected patients, additional protective measures would be taken by younger and less experienced dental assistants	en_US
dc.description.abstract	Temos aktualumas: Šiuolaikinėje visuomenėje kiekvienas pacientas turi teisę gauti kokybišką odontologinį gydymą ir pagarbų gydytojų odontologų bei jų padėjėjų elgesį. Daugėjant asmenų sergančių nepagydoma užkrečiama liga daugėja ir specialistų, kuriems kyla abejonių dėl tokio paciento gydymo. Būtent todėl, galima manyti, kad egzistuoja veiksniai, nulemiantys gydytojo odontologo padėjėjo pasirinkimą. Tyrimo problema: Kokie pagrindiniai veiksniai įtakoja gydytojo odontologo padėjėjo pasirinkimą gydant ŽIV infekuotus pacientus? Tyrimo objektas: Gydytojų odontologų padėjėjų pasirinkimas ir žinios gydant ŽIV infekuotus asmenis. Tyrimo tikslas: Atskleisti gydytojų odontologų padėjėjų požiūrį į ŽIV infekuotų asmenų gydymą ir įvertinti žinias apie šią ligą priklausomai nuo respondentų lyties, amžiaus ir darbo patirties. Tyrimo uždaviniai: 1. Atskleisti koks gydytojų odontologų padėjėjų požiūris į ŽIV infekuoto paciento gydymą, ir kiek iš jų jaustų baimę ir vengtų dalyvauti procedūroje gydant ŽIV infekuotą asmenį, priklausomai nuo gydytojo odontologo padėjėjo lyties, amžiaus bei darbo patirties. 2. Įvertinti gydytojų odontologų padėjėjų žinias apie ŽIV simptomatiką burnoje, naudojamas prevencijos priemones dirbant su ŽIV infekuotais pacientais ir skubios pagalbos protokolą, esant didelei rizikai užsikrėsti ŽIV, priklausomybę nuo gydytojo odontologo padėjėjo lyties, amžiaus bei darbo patirties. Tyrimo metodika ir tiriamieji: Atlikta anoniminė anketinė apklausa. Apklausta 221 Lietuvos gydytojų odontologų padėjėjų, duomenų analizė atlikta naudojant aprašomosios statistikos skaičiavimus Rezultatai: 1) Moterys ir nesenai baigę studijas bei pradėja dirbti gydytojo odontologo padėjėjai jaustų didžiausią baimę gydydami ŽIV infekuotus pacientus. 2) Gydant ŽIV indekuotą pacientą papildomų apsaugos priemonių imtųsi jaunesni ir mažiau patirties turintys gydytojo odontologo padėjėjai.	en_US
