dc.description The relevance of the topic. Alcohol dependency is a physical and psychological dependency on alcohol, causing long-term physical, psychological, and social life related consequences (Littrel, 2014). According to the WHO, 1 person out of 10 has a tendency to become addicted. Therefore, the topic of the social worker's assistance to alcohol addicts’ treatment is extremely relevant. People who are addicted usually begin treatment in addiction centres where they are constantly consulted by social workers. It is very important to figure out what kind of influence the social worker’s consultations have to the addicted individual. The aim of the thesis: To evaluate the importance of the social worker's consultation work to people during their alcohol addiction treatment The object of the thesis: The importance of a social worker’s consultation work to people during their alcohol addiction treatment. Challenges of the thesis: 1. To describe the characteristics of a person addicted to alcohol. 2. To distinguish the psycho-sociological problems faced by individuals with an alcohol addiction. 3. To reveal the social worker’s consultation work with people during their alcohol addiction treatment. 4. To identify the importance of the social worker's consultation work to people during their alcohol addiction treatment. The type of the research: quality research. The study participants: Individuals with an alcohol addiction, who attend the AA, who’ve gone through treatment in the “Minnesota” programme, who have worked with a social worker, and who have been sober for more than a year. 6 informants took part in the research, 3 of them men, 3 – women. Conclusions of the research. The research helped determine the fact, that to the individuals who partook in the research, the consultation work of a social worker holds importance. The informants stated, that during the social worker’s consultations they ascertained the reasons for their addiction, understood their faulty models of thinking, and learned to correct them. They also got to know how to improve the relationships with their loved ones and relatives. The informants who attended the social worker’s consultations stated, that for several years they’ve applied the self-examination and calming techniques, that they’ve learned during the consultations. To the informants it was important, that during the consultations the social worker provided information about the AA society and encouraged them to attend. en
dc.description.abstract Priklausomybė nuo alkoholio – fizinė ir psichologinė priklausomybė nuo alkoholio vartojimo, sukelianti ilgalaikes fizines, psichines ir socialines pasekmes (Littrel, 2014). PSO duomenimis, maždaug kas 10 žmogus turi polinkį į priklausomybes. Todėl gydymo nuo priklausomybių tema – ypač aktuali. Priklausomų asmenų gijimo pradžia paprastai vyksta priklausomybių centruose, o ten besigydančius asmenis nuolat konsultuoja socialiniai darbuotojai. Svarbu išsiaiškinti, kokią įtaką sveikimui turi socialinio darbuotojo konsultavimo veikla ir kokia tos veiklos svarba pačiam priklausomajam. en_US
