dc.description In developing social services, the main priority is given to the need for special social services. Upon retirement, having health problems, if relatives are in abroad orthey are working people without the ability to care for their old relatives and for other personal reasons, the elderly and old people who can not live independently in their own home, settle in the Self-Lifelong section. Conclusions of the research: The results of the research revealed that the need for social services for the elderly and the old people is high in the department of independent living. This shows that their life in this section resembles the home environment: the social worker gives them all the things necessary for the home, ensures hygiene conditions, helps to carry out daily activities. Both residents of the Independent Living Department and their relatives point out that a social worker always provides high-quality social services in time - informs, advises and mediates. During the reaseach, the parties to improvement were revealed: In the Independent Living Department, people lack assistance in handling financial affairs, visiting visits and interviews with more frequent social workers, assistance in bathing, and assistance with specialists. There is also lack of communication services for relatives. This shows that the need for social services is provided to the residents of the Independent Living Unit and their relatives. en
