dc.description Ensuring the rights of sexual minorities in Lithuania and other European Union countries. Dovilė Bukauskaitė. Professional Bachelor thesis. Lecturer N. Mikalauskienė, Faculty of Management and Economics of Kaunas College, Department of Law, 2018. – p. 49; 85 sources of information. The problem of ensuring and implementing the rights of sexual minorities in Lithuania is becoming more and more relevant, in discussions, various human rights institutions point out that representatives of sexual minorities feel discriminated. The subject of work is the rights of sexual minorities. The aim of the work is to analyze the problems of ensuring and implementing the rights of sexual minorities. Work tasks: 1. To analyze the concept of sexual minorities and the development of laws; 2. To analyze the regulation of the rights of sexual minorities in national and international law and to study the problems of legal regulation of the implementation and assurance of sexual minorities; 3. To analyze the regulation of the rights of sexual minorities in the cases of the European Court of Human Rights. Research methods. In this work, the following methods are used: scientific literature analysis and synthesis, analysis of legal acts, descriptive, comparative, graphical representation, analytical and statistical methods. The main conclusions are: sexual minorities - a group of people whose sexual orientation, gender identity, or sexual characteristics are different from the majority of the population. They include lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual. Because of the stereotypes that emerged in society, these people often face the problem of legal and social exclusion. In most cases, the ECtHR addresses issues arising after a gender change, i.e. the issue of identity documents, the conclusion of a marriage, the retirement (in those countries where the retirement age for women and men is different), the change of surname, payment for a gender change operation, etc. This is the case with cases of discrimination, for example, in terms of housing contracts, that housing can not be leased to homosexual persons, and there are complaints about the formation and / or recognition of marriages or partnerships of the same sex, the granting of residence permits to same-sex partners in the country , which does not recognize same-sex marriages or partnerships. en
