dc.description Relevance: "Disinfection is one of the tools for reducing the transmission of communicable diseases." (ULAC, 2014). Global market offers wide variety of disinfectant that kill pathogenic microorganisms in the environment. Most disinfectants have side effects on the environment and humans. Lithuanian producers of "Burbuliukas" AB offer an alternative to chemical disinfectants - ionized acidic water (anolyte), which is safe for man and the environment and cheaper than chemical disinfectants and destroying pathogenic microorganisms. Thesis: acidic ionized water antimicrobial evaluation. Aim of the research: To evaluate the antimicrobial effects of ionized acid water. Objectives: 1. To theoretically explain the obtaining and practical use of ionized acid water; 2. Determine the bactericidal effect of ionized acid water. Research methods: 1. Analysis of theoretical and scientific literature on ionized acid water. 2. A microbiological test, the purpose of which, by means of the washing method, is to determine whether ionised acid water acts as a bacteriocid. The microbiological antimicrobial study of ionized acid water (anolyte) was carried out on the order of the "Burbuliukas" AB of Kaunas College, Faculty of Medicine, Microbiology Laboratory. The effect of anolyte on the contaminated surfaces (table top, ceramic tiles, floor coverings) and medical tools (glass, ceramic, metal) with different biological properties were studied. Reference cultures of microorganisms derived from OXOID No. 605068: Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Staphylococcus epidermidis ATCC 12228, Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 31488, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853, Proteus vulgaris ATCC 8427, Bacillus subtilis ATCC6633, Candida albicans ATCC10231. Anolyte exposure lasted 15-30 minutes. Results: Ionized acid water has biocidal effect on microorganisms with different biological properties, which have contaminated surfaces and medical instruments. en
