dc.description	Revelance of the topic: Due to the medical achievements of the present time, patients suffer from brain trauma, which results in a vegetative state, and they survive longer and longer. As the life expectancy of these patients increases, there is a need for ongoing medical care. At present, there is not enough research in Lithuania and articles on nurses' activity in nursing patients. Aim of the research: To reveal the activity of nurses working with patients of vegetative state. Objectives: To describe the vegetative state from a medical and social point of view; To describe aspects of nursing in nursing a patient of vegetative state .; To determine the activities of the nurse ensuring the dignity of the patient of vegetative state; To identify the nurse's activities and their peculiarities and problems. Research object: Nurses' activity in nursing patients with vegetative state. Study subject: Nurses in the palliative care unit at Y Nursing and Supportive Care Hospital nurses, X City. Research Methods: The researcher uses the analysis of scientific literature sources, semistructured interview method and content analysis. Research results and conclusions: The study revealed that nurses generally provide dignity to vegetative patients by providing privacy, taking into account the needs of loved ones, and ensuring individuality. A minority of nurses mentioned that this could be achieved by providing gender expression to the patient, providing no confidential information, providing education, and meeting religious needs. The study also that nurses usually maintain hygiene, maintain nursing records, maintain nutrition and fluid balance, perform tracheostomy care, prevent and treat ulcers, and a minority mention gastrostomy care, allow and distribute medication, and communicate with the patient. Most nurses mentioned that these activities include regular communication with loved ones, prevention of bed sores, frequent meals, communication with a patient without feedback, meeting immediate needs, teamwork, ongoing hygiene support, and pain assessment. Most of the nurses who care for these patients experience physical and communication difficulties with the patient and a smaller number also experience psychological difficulties related to the patient's condition.	en_US
dc.description.abstract	Temos aktualumas: Dėl šių laikų medicinos pasiekimų pacientai patyrę galvos smegenų traumą, kurios baigtis vegetacinė būklė, vis ilgiau išgyvena. Ilgėjant šių pacientų gyvenimo trukmei atsiranda poreikis nuolatinei medicininei priežiūrai. Šiuo metu Lietuvoje nepakankamai atlikta tyrimų ir parengta straipsnių, kurie nagrinėtų slaugytojų veiklos temą slaugant vegetacinės būklės pacientus. Tyrimo tikslas: Atskleisti slaugytojų veiklą dirbant su vegetacinės būklės pacientais. Darbo uždaviniai: Apibūdinti vegetacinę būklę medicininiu ir socialiniu požiūriu; Apibūdinti slaugos aspektus slaugant vegetacinės būklės pacientą; Nustatyti slaugytojo veiklą užtikrinant vegetacinės būklės paciento orumą; Identifikuoti slaugytojo veiklą ir jos ypatumus bei problemas. Tyrimo objektas: Slaugytojų veikla slaugant vegetacinės būklės pacientus. Tyrimo subjektas: X miesto Y slaugos ir palaikomojo gydymo ligoninės slaugytojos. Tyrimo metodai: Tyrime naudojama mokslinės literatūros šaltinių analizė, pusiau strukturuotas interviu metodas ir turinio (content) analizė. Tyrimo rezultatai ir išvados: Tyrimas atskleidė, jog dažniausiai slaugytojos orumą vegetacinės būklės pacientams užtikrina suteikdamos privatumą, atsižvelgdamos į artimųjų poreikius, užtikrindamos individualumą. Mažoji dalis slaugytojų paminėjo, jog tai galima užtikrinti suteikiant lyties raišką pacientui, neteikiant konfidencialios informacijos, užtikrinant švietimą ir religinius poreikius. Dažniausiai slaugytojos vegetacinės būklės pacientams palaiko higiena, pildo slaugos dokumentus, užtikrina mitybą ir skysčių pusiausvyrą, atlieka tracheostomų priežiūrą, pragulų profilaktiką ir priežiūrą, taip pat mažesnė dalis paminėjo, jog atlieka gastrostomų priežiūrą, leidžia ir dalina vaistus bei bendrauja su pacientu. Dauguma slaugytojų paminėjo, jog šios veiklos ypatumai yra nuolatinis bendravimas su artimaisiais, pragulų profilaktika, dažnas maitinimas, bendravimas su pacientu be grįžtamojo ryšio, artimųjų poreikių tenkinimas, darbas komandoje, nuolatinis higienos palaikymas, bei skausmo vertinimas. Dauguma slaugytojų slaugančių šiuos pacientus patiria fizinius ir bendravimo su pacientu ir jo artimaisias sunkumus, o mažesnė dalis patiria ir psichologinius sunkumus susijusius su paciento būkle.	en_US
