dc.description	Recently, more and more people are turning to dentists wishing to improve their well-being by restoring lost dental function, aesthetics and phonetics. When it is not enough to remove the dental defects by using fillings alone, the teeth are restored using fixed dentures. Varying degrees of living, endodontical treated and for various reasons lost teeth are recreated using fixed denture prostheses, regardless the size of the defect – one or more teeth. Bacterial plaque is formed not only on teeth and soft tissues surrounding them, but also on all restorations in the mouth. Constantly retaining plaque at the edge of the gums and the limit of the prosthesis can cause inflammation of the gums - eventually the development of periodontal diseases and secondary caries. After the dental prosthetic appliance, professional and individual oral hygiene becomes very important. According to literature, the prevalence and intensity of periodontal disease depends on people's attitudes, knowledge of oral health, individual hygiene skills, which may be influenced by education, social status and place of residence. dc.description.abstract	Fiksuotais dantų protezais pacientams atkuriami įvairaus laipsnio gyvi ir endodontiškai gydyti bei dėl įvairių priežasčių prarasti dantys, nepriklausomai nuo to, kokio dydžio yra defektas – vieno ar daugelio dantų. (Šakavičius, 2017). Bakterinis apnašas formuojasi ne tik ant dantų bei juos supančių minkštųjų audinių, bet neišvengiamai ir ant visų burnoje esančių restauracijų (Šniukaitė, 2018). Nuolat užsilaikantis apnašas ties dantenų kraštu ir vainikėlio – danties riba gali sukelti dantenų uždegimą, ilgainiui - periodonto ligų bei antrinio karieso vystymąsi. Todėl, po dantų protezavimo, labai svarbi tampa profesionali ir asmeninė burnos higiena. Tyrimo metu buvo nagrinėtos ir vertinamos pacientų, turinčių fiksuotų dantų protezų, žinios apie burnos higieną.	en_US
