| dc.description | Smoking is widely considered being bad habit and addiction of its negative consequences to overall human health, especially with its major outcome to oral health. However, it is possible to give up smoking and avoid multiple oral health infractions (S. Gikaraite ir L. Dvarionaite, 2018). Smoking causes unfavourable effects to periodontal tissue health. Smokers increase their risk to fall sick in periodontitis from 1.4 to 5 times. Moreover smoking negatively influences to effectiveness of periodontitis treatment (A. Pranckeviciene, 2017). Smoking deteriorates oral hygiene, stimulates dental calculus build up and furthermore triggers gum diseases. It is essential to maintain daily personal oral hygiene in accordance with teeth, interdental cleansing and mouth rinsing. There are various reasons why patients fail in controlling of teeth bacterial plaque removal. In these terms periodontitis diseases continue progressing and resulting ineffective treatment thus leading to loss of the teeth in later treatment stages (A. Kragnyte, 2017).
