dc.description Description of the professional BA thesis. Volunteering activity is very crucial for any society and its members. It is simply relying on assistance to others in various areas of nongovernment organizations. Based on several different authors, volunteering could be treated as improvement of professional and social knowledge and the activity which brings a feeling of inner satisfaction. It is also important to mention that volunteers provide benefit not just for themselves, but also and for community and organizations where they volunteer. According to scientific literature, there are several aspects of management on which volunteer activity are relying: volunteers accounting, planning, recruiting, selection, training, adaptation, motivation and final evaluation. However, there are even more different sources of literature where volunteer activity management are described even more detail, not like ones which are mentioned in the scientific literature. Since volunteering creates the economic value of the state, which can contribute to the sport sector organizations development, it is important to properly exploit and organize the management of volunteering. Only by doing that correctly, volunteering could be able to involve the community into social problems and their solving. The main problem of the professional BA thesis - which aspects of volunteering management are essential, what determines their activity in organizations? The aim of the professional BA thesis - to research and evaluate aspects of management at “Kauno maratono klubas“ volunteering activity. Objectives of the professional BA thesis: 1. Describe the theoretical concept of voluntary activity. 2. Describe the main aspects of volunteering management. 3. To evaluate aspects of „Kauno maratono klubas“ volunteer activity management. Methods of the professional BA thesis: 1. Analysis of scientific literature sources; 2. Semi-structured interview; 3. Questionnaire survey; 4. Descriptive statistics. The structure – at theoretical part is providing the review of the concept of volunteering and aspects of management. The analytical part presents the results of qualitative and quantitative research. The third part presents and discusses about the results of the made research, the conclusions are given based on the results of the theoretical and analytical part. The results/conclusions. In the scientific literature, volunteering is described as an unpaid activity for a society which is carried out on a voluntary basis, without seeking material reward, and the effective management of volunteers depends on a well-developed volunteer management strategy. Scientific literature provides the basic elements that should follow organizations to manage volunteers. Essential aspects of volunteering management are identified in eight stages: accounting, planning, recruitment, selection, adaptation, training, motivation and evaluation. Research has shown that volunteers would support greater dissemination of information to help attract volunteers, and also expect to receive more attention, focusing on monitoring and feedback from activities to avoid problems. The career function that needs to be related to career prospects, in the opinion of volunteers, remained the most questionable. In addition, volunteers would like to have the freedom to carry out tasks and get involved in decisions, and although the relationship between the voluntary organization sector is good, the organization's communications show shortcomings in supporting the volunteers emotionally and in keeping in touch. There are similarities in the management of the organization with the aspects of voluntary activity management analysed in the theoretical part. It has been established that the organization carries out the main processes of volunteer management: accounting for volunteers, planned needs, recruitment. Selection is also carried out, volunteers are adapted and trained. Motivation of volunteers starts from the first meeting, and evaluation takes place during meetings. Suggestions/recommendations: Increase the dissemination of information on volunteering within the organization, use informal search, such as „word of mouth“, personal contacts, encourage volunteers to share experiences with friends or relatives. Also giving more attention to the volunteers and monitoring their activities with positive feedback. Applying one of the simplest ways of evaluating volunteering - interviews that can be used to evaluate current volunteers, monitor detailed information, identify problems, and find ways to resolve them. Giving more freedom to volunteers in their assigned tasks, giving them more time to communicate and support them emotionally and by supporting collaboration between the organization and the volunteers. en
dc.description.abstract Savanoriška veikla yra neatlygintina naudinga veikla visuomenei ir jos nariams, kuri remiasi pagalba kitiems įvairiose srityse ir aptinkama nevyriausybinių organizacijų akiratyje. Skirtingi autoriai savanoriškos veiklos teikiamas naudas apibūdinama kaip profesinių, socialinių įgūdžių tobulinimo bei pasitenkinimo vykdoma veikla. Savanoriai neša naudą ne tik sau, bet ir organizacijai, kurioje atlieka savanorišką veiklą, taip pat ir bendruomenei. Savanoriškos veiklos pagrindiniais valdymo aspektais mokslinėje literatūroje apibrėžiama savanorių apskaita, planavimas, verbavimas, atrankos valdymo procesas, apmokymas, adaptavimas, motyvacija ir vertinimas, tačiau skirtinguose šaltiniuose randama ir išsamiau aprašomų savanorių valdymo modelių. Kadangi savanoriška veikla kuria valstybės ekonominę vertę, kuri gali prisidėti prie sporto sektoriaus organizacijų veiklų skatinimo, tokiu būdu realizuojant bendruomenės įsitraukimą ar socialinių problemų sprendimą, svarbu deramai naudoti savanorių teikiamą pagalbą ir tinkamai vykdyti jų valdymą. en_US
