dc.description The fear of dental treatment has long been a widespread problem that has a detrimental effect on our oral condition. Even with rapidly developing dental procedures, anesthetic technologies do not change this old and sensitive problem. Those who have great fear of dental treatment usually do not achieve good and proper dental care and face difficult and complicated dental treatment. Prolonged and poor oral hygiene causes tooth decay, periodontal disease and consequently dental loss. Because of the fear experienced, patients often cancel visits to dentists and even stop treatment that is already underway or planned. It is noticeable that, with dental fear, patients have a higher incidence of caries, periodontal disease, as well as sealed or torn teeth. Aim of the study - To evaluate the impact of dental treatment of adult patients on oral health. There are three main challenges to the research goal: 1. To reveal the links between dental treatment and dental health. 2. Find out the factors that determine the fear of dental treatment. 3. To evaluate the opinion of the subjects about fear of dental treatment. Working methods: analysis of scientific literature, questionnaire survey, descriptive statistics. A quantitative study was conducted. The purpose of the study is to reveal the links between oral health and fear of dental treatment in adult patients. 100 randomly selected respondents participated in the study. Based on the analysis of scientific literature, we can say that patients with dental care are less likely to visit dentists, so their oral health and hygiene conditions are much worse and more complicated treatment situations occur. The study has shown that more than half of the respondents feel the fear of dental treatment, which has a negative impact on their oral hygiene, with progressive oral and gum disease. The fear that arises makes it possible to cancel a visit to a doctor dentist, in which almost 70% of patients feel frightened, tense and restless, they are frightened by the uncertainty about what procedures will be carried out, closed rooms, sensations and needles. en_US
