dc.description	For a small Lithuanian state, the development of the tourism sector may be one of the most significant sources of income, influencing the economic development of individual regions and the whole country. As a result, tourist needs are becoming increasingly evident in new forms of tourism, such as active tourism and leisure. Therefore, in order to attract a larger number of tourists, active tourism and leisure needs to be explored in more detail so as to identify the needs of tourists and develop the services and infrastructure needed to meet their needs. Aim of the thesis: to evaluate the development of active tourism and leisure in Mazeikiai district. Methods of work: analysis of scientific literature; document analysis; analysis of statistical data; questionnaire; SWOT analysis. The structure: The theoretical part of this work presents the situation of active tourism and leisure in Maţeikiai district, explains the main features of the theme. Quantitative and qualitative study of the opportunities of active tourism and leisure development is performed in Mazeikiai district and SWOT analysis is presented. The third part summarizes the results of the study of active tourism and leisure development opportunities, provides the main development directions. The last part summarizes all the written work. The results/conclusions: after quantitative research and SWOT analysis it can be concluded that there are many unused tourism objects in Mazeikiai district. The bad image of the city and the district could be influenced by poor and inaccurate dissemination of information and the absence of a strategic development plan. As a result, the Mazeikiai district is visited just by an average of 3000-4000 tourists a year. There is also a lack of tourist tours, poor work of the Mazeikiai Tourism and Business Information Center. In summary, it can be said that the development of active tourism and leisure in the Mazeikiai district is not carried out and has no precise vision. To solve the problems, it was first proposed to create a new website, which would contain easily achievable tourism related information (objects, events, topicalities), which would represent the Mazeikiai district, as well as to consider the recruitment of an additional employee in this institution. Active tourist tours are proposed.	en
dc.description.abstract	Nedidelei Lietuvos valstybei turizmo sektoriaus plėtojimas gali būti vienas reikšmingiausių pajamų šaltinių, veikiančių atskirų regionų bei visos šalies ekonominį vystymąsi. Turizmo plėtra veikia ne tik šalies ekonomiką, bet ir švietimą, kultūrą bei infrastruktūrą. Taip pat turizmas yra didţiausia pasaulio industrija, todėl verta atkreipti dėmesį, jog turizmo plėtra ir vystymasis garsina šalies vardą globaliai.Šiuo metu turizmas yra lyginamas su tam tikromis laisvalaikio veiklomis, nes daugeliu atveju infrastruktūros elementai sutampa, o ţmonių ketinamai išlieka panašūs – pabėgti nuo rutinos, patirti kaţką naujo, atsipalaiduoti. Būtentšios ir kitos sąsajos nagrinėjamos šiame darbe. Besikeičiančioje ir vis modernėjančioje visuomenėje turistų poreikiai vis didėja, išsiskiria naujos turizmo formos, tokios kaip aktyvus turizmas ir laisvalaikis. Todėl siekiant pritraukti didesnį turistų skaičių, aktyvųjį turizmą ir laisvalaikį reikia išnagrinėti detaliau, kad būtų įmanoma identifikuoti turistų poreikius ir plėtoti reikalingas paslaugas, bei infrastruktūrą poreikiams tenkinti.	en_US
