dc.description Liudžiūtė O. „Evaluation of patients‘ life quality after they have been performed computed tomography scan of head and neck“ bachelor‘s thesis / lect. Ina Kurtinaitienė; Kaunas University of applied sciences; Faculty of Medicine, Department of Biomedical diagnostics. Kaunas, 2018: 00 p. Life’s quality and computed tomography’s (CT) research connection evaluated patients’ condition of health and impact on it, also it reveals technology of radiology setbacks in work environment. Aim – evaluate patients who have been performed CT scan of head and neck life’s quality. Goals: 1) to disclose the correlation between life quality and health condition. 2) to reveal CT of head and neck medical procedure‘s performance method and awareness of patients. 3) Evaluate the differences of life quality of the patients who have been performed CT scan of head and neck. Object of the research: life quality of the patients who have been performed a CT scan of head and neck. Methodology. The survey was performed during the time period of March ‒ May, 2018 at LSMUL VšĮ Kauno klinikos Onkologijos ir hematologijos klinika: Chemotherapy Day Unit, Radiotherapy Unit and LSMUL VšĮ Kauno klinikos subsidiary Onkologijos ligoninė. 60 patients have been surveyed (response frequency ‒ 76,67 %). Life quality evaluated by the standartized questionnaires prepared by The European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC): general EORTC QLQ-C30 (version 3) and specific head and neck EORTC QLQ-H&N35, methods of evaluation and 11 additional questions for patients by the author of the research. Two research groups were collected by targetted selection 100,00 % (N=46): 1) First group (N=25) ‒ patients of LSMUL VšĮ Kauno klinikos, who have been performed a CT scan of head and neck. 2) Second group (N=21) ‒ patients of LSMUL VšĮ KK subsidiary Onkologijos ligoninė, who have been performed a CT scan of head and neck. The allowance of LSMU Bioethics center was received on March 3rd, 2018, BEC‒KK(B)‒23. The ordered contract of science on April 23, 2018, F23-263. The analysis of statistic data has been performed. Results: Approximately 20,00% of patients claimed the lack of information about the procedure of CT, the same amount of patients stated that the scan made them feel uncomfortable. More than 65,00% of patients claimed of had been feeling anxious and afraid. About 40,00% patients weren’t informed about the amount of irradiance that was received. Statistically significant difference was found comparing both research groups when CT scan was performed during the course of treatment; patients of the second group showed lower life quality (p=0.001). 40,00% of patients of the first group, 52.38% of patients of the second group claimed that CT scan has affected their life quality. Patients (60.00% of the first group, 71.43% of the second group) agree that the results of CT scan had changed their life quality. Conclusion: Life quality associated with health is determined by physical, psychological and social factors. Patient‘s illness and its treatment restricts one‘s usual activities, activeness, has an impact on relations with family and co-workers, because of the illness, majority of life‘s quality indicators which are associated with health gets worse. It is important to properly inform patient and purposefully choose patient‘s examination methodic while performing a CT scan of head and neck. Providing a high quality services of radiology can have an Impact on patient‘s life quality associated with health. Patients‘ of the first group life quality and physical scale‘s results are better and the scale of symptoms is less defined which reveals a better life quality comparing to the second group of patients. The second group of patients‘ physical scale‘s data of life quality is worse and the scale of symptoms is more defined. These differences of received results proves that the life quality of second group patients is worse. en
dc.description.abstract Darbo tikslas ‒ įvertinti pacientų, kuriems buvo atliktas galvos-kaklo kompiuterinės tomografijos tyrimas, gyvenimo kokybę. Uždaviniai: 1) Atskleisti su sveikata susijusios gyvenimo kokybės sampratą. 2) Atskleisti galvos-kaklo kompiuterinės tomografijos medicininės procedūros atlikimo metodiką ir pacientų informuotumą. 3) Įvertinti pacientų, kuriems buvo atliktas galvos-kaklo kompiuterinės tomografijos tyrimas, gyvenimo kokybės skirtumus. Tyrimo objektas ‒ pacientų, kuriems buvo atliktas galvos-kaklo kompiuterinės tomografijos tyrimas, gyvenimo kokybė. Metodika.
