dc.description The subject of this study is the flowers of pot marigold (Calendulae officinalis flos). Pot marigold (Calendula officinalis L.) is an annual herbal plant, 25-60 cm height which belong to Asteraceae family. This medicinal plant, often cultivated in homesteads, has anticancer, antimicrobial, antiparasitic, antiviral, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and many other pharmacological properties. Pot marigold (Calendula officinalis L.) is rich in biologically active compounds such as phenolic compounds, terpenes, flavonoids, carotenoids, essential oils, and others. Because of unique chemical composition plant preparations are widely used for the treatment of wounds, scratches, burns, ulcers, hips and other skin lesions. Also, herbal preparations are used for inflammatory digestive problems, gingivitis and even oncological diseases. The purpose of this work is to determine the amount of phenolic compounds in pot marigold (Calendula officinalis L.) grown in different homesteads. Flowers were collected from 3 different homesteads in Marijampolė, Alytus and Vilnius districts. Based on information of planting place and the method of drying, the amounts of biologically active compounds were compared. The data was transferred to charts using Microsoft Excel 2007. The results were compared and summarized. The highest amount of phenolic compounds (16,05 GRE mg/g) was determined in Vilnius district, Kalveliai town, which was dried in the dryer. The lowest amount of phenolic compounds (12,7 GRE mg/g) was determined in Marijampolė district, Kalvarija town, which was grown and dried at home. The highest amount of flavonoids (0,616 %) was also found in Vilnius district, Kalveliai town, which was dried in the dryer. The lowest amount of flavonoids (0,562 %) was determined in Alytus district, Radžiūnai village, which was grown and dried at home. en_US
dc.description.abstract Baigiamajame bakalauro darbe buvo aprašyta vaistinės medetkos (Calendula officinalis L.) morfologija, paplitimas, biologiškai aktyvūs junginiai, ir farmakologiniai poveikiai. Atlikus eksperimentinį tyrimą buvo nustatytas bendras fenolinių junginių ir flavonoidų kiekį, vaistinės medetkos (Calendula officinalis L.) žieduose. Išanalizavus mokslinę literatūrą, bei atlikus tyrimo rezultatų analizę, buvo pateiktos išvados. Darbą sudaro turinys, santrauka, įvadas, du skyriai, išvados, rekomendacijos, literatūros sąrašas. Darbo apimtis – 33 psl., 55 bibliografinių šaltinių. en_US
