dc.description	At the present time, diabetes is becoming an epidemic around the world, and the number of people with this disease in Lithuania is constantly increasing and the number of complications associated with this disease growing. Therefore, regular patient training and disease control are essential to prevent further diabetes complications, but the number of specialists performing these services is limited. A pharmaceutical care service for people with diabetes is a good solution to have better care for this disease. Studies conducted shows that in countries a system of pharmaceutical care the cooperation between doctors and pharmaceutical specialist has a positive effect on the treatment of patients with chronic diseases in order to avoid the complications caused by the disease. One of the most important aspects that can help to expand the pharmaceutical care service is the patients need of it. Aim of the study: To evaluate the need for pharmaceutical care for people with diabetes. Work tasks: 1. Analyze scientific literature on pharmaceutical care and diabetes. 2. Identify factors that determine the need for pharmaceutical care for people with diabetes. 3. Reveal the need for pharmaceutical care for people with diabetes. In order to achieve the aim and objectives of the work, the first chapter analyzed pharmaceutical care and its essence; the second one discusses what is diabetes; the third is the role of a pharmaceutical specialist in controlling diabetes. In this study, the questionnaire survey method was used in writing. During the study, information was gathered from 264 respondents visiting the Kaunas suburbs X, the “X” public pharmacies as well as the X diabetes club in Kaunas. The X public pharmacies and the Diabetes Club X were chosen because the pharmacy was visited for the medicines of diabetes, including medical applications and in diabetes club, people discussed new from this disease world. People having diabetes for different time span were able to better identify the need for pharmaceutical care. The results of the study showed that almost half of the respondents are in need of a pharmaceutical care service, but the majority of the questionnaires show that they do not need this service or do not know that.	en_US
dc.description.abstract	Baigiamajame bakalauro darbe buvo paaiškinta farmacinė rūpyba, paaiškintas cukrinio diabeto apibrėžimas ir klasifikacija, epidemiologija, patogenezė ir ligos komplikacijos, rizikos veiksniai, komplikacijos, mityba, rūkymas ir alkoholio vartojimas, fizinis aktyvumas, cukrinio diabeto kontrolė. Aprašytas farmacijos specialistų vaidmuo cukrinio diabeto kontroliavime. Nustatytas farmacinės rūpybos poreikis cukriniu diabetu sergantiems asmenims. Išnagrinėjus mokslinę literatūrą bei atlikus duomenų analizę buvo pateiktos išvados. Darbą sudaro įvadas, du skyriai, išvados, rekomendacijos, literatūros sąrašas, priedai.
