Nurses have evaluated themselves ,,good” for their knowledge about obesity. This shows that they are aware of the main aspects of working with people who are obese. Most often nurses lack the information about the usage of compensatory aids and appliances as well as the secure lifting and transportation of the patients. One of the most common functions that nurses perform is to develop patient‘s new eating habits and to encourage physical activity. More than a half of the nurses claim that educating their patients help them to understand the health problems obesity can cause and motivate them to follow the instructions they get. Mostly, nurses provide their obese patients and their relatives with the information about healthy nutrition, change of the eating habits, physical activity and their influence on a person‘s health. Most nurses find the conversation to be the most acceptable method of education of the patients who suffer from obesity. en_US
