dc.description	Relevance of the work. For children from high social-risk families, day care centres offer opportunities to develop academic knowledge and progress in different ways. One of the duties of social workers employed by the Children's Day Centre includes developing of social skills for children attending the previously mentioned institution. Children attending the Children's Day Centre face various social difficulties, for this reason social workers are required to find effective methods for developing social skills. According to the data of the Ministry of Social Security and Labour of the Republic of Lithuania in 2017, 285 Children's Day Care Centres are already established in Lithuania and provide services for more than 8 thousand children and their family members. The Forum theatre methodology is one of the types of drama therapy based on the creation of short etudes as well as discussions that can contribute to the development of children's social skills. The aim of the work is: to reveal the opportunities for developing social skills for children attending the Children's Day centre by applying the Forum Theatre Methodology. The following objectives have been set: 1. To explain the methodology of the Forum Theatre at the theoretical level. 2. To define the concept of social skills. 3. To introduce the profile of children from social risk families. 4. To describe the role of the Children's Day Centre while developing social skills. 5. To determine the development of social skills using the Forum Theatre Methodology for children who attend Children‘s Day Centres. Practical significance of the present work includes: Applying the Forum Theatre Methodology as a social work method as well as analysing the relevance of the Forum Theatrical Methodology in Developing Children's Social Skills. Methods of empirical research. The qualitative study of the participant was selected for the study. The research data have been collected during seven lessons based on Forum Theatre Methodology as well as two unstructured interviews with children aged 10 to 11, attending X children’s day care centres. Conclusion of the research. A carried out qualitative study revealed the opportunities of developing children’s social skills by applying the Forum Theatre Methodology. The initial stage of the study process reveals the lack or even absence of communication, expression of feelings and conflict resolution. Due to the lack of the previously mentioned social skills, children experience emotional distress and frustration. Subsequently, children attending the Children's Day Centre are provided with the opportunity to improve social skills by applying the Forum Theatrical Methodology.	en
dc.description.abstract	Vaikams iš socialinei rizikai priklausančių šeimų, vaikų dienos centrai suteikia galimybes ugdyti akademines žinias ir visokeriopai vystytis. Viena iš socialinių darbuotojų, dirbančių vaikų dienos centre, pareigų yra ugdyti vaikų, lankančių vaikų dienos centrą socialinius įgūdžius. Vaikai, lankantys vaikų dienos centrą susiduria su įvairiais socialiniais sunkumais, dėl kurių socialiniai darbuotojai turi mokėti atrasti efektyvius metodus socialinių įgūdžių ugdymui. Lietuvos Respublikos socialinės apsaugos ir darbo ministerijos duomenimis 2017 m. Lietuvoje veikė 285 vaikų dienos centrai, kurie teikė savo paslaugas daugiau kaip 8 tūkst. vaikų ir jų šeimos nariams. Forumo teatro metodika yra viena iš dramos terapijos rūšių, kuri remiasi trumpų etiudų kūrimu bei diskusija, galinčia prisidėti prie vaikų socialinių įgūdžių ugdymo.	en_US
